Hi folks,

This week's Concert Band schedule will continue as usual, with a new piece hitting the stands this week. It is your responsibility to ensure you are at rehearsal to keep up to date with the music and resources being provided. I'm quite happy to see an overwhelming majority of you being more focused and productive during our independent study portion of the rehearsal! This will no doubt lead to gains in our overall performance quality - a positive byproduct of the device policy no doubt.

Jazz Band will once again focus on our 1st years this week, delving further into the basics of improvisation and the style of jazz. All students in Jazz Studies are welcome, just be aware of the introductory nature of this week's rehearsals.

Lastly, we've been offered an awesome opportunity to take in regarded Canadian classical pianist Sarah Hagen while she's in town. Sarah Hagen is an award winning artist who is currently touring her "Wonder Woman" material. The performance will take place Monday October 7th at 12:30 in the music room, and feature a 45-minute set with a 15-minute Q&A to follow. Students will be excused from their 3rd period C-Block class to take in the performance, and should be able to make it on time to their 4th period D-Block class. See the attached posters for more details.

Thanks everyone, here's to a great week!

Mr. V
