Crowe Music Dept. Winter Concert!

I'm pleased to announce we will be hosting this year's Winter Concert Thursday December 12th in the Crowe gymnasium. Students are asked to be there between 6-6:15pm. The show will start at 6:30pm, and run about 90 minutes long. Admission is by donation (pay what you can), and funds will go towards new music and social events for music students.

Family, friends, and the community at large are all welcome to this performance. We have opted to perform in the gymnasium due to a substantial increase in audience attendance over the years. Our concert will include performances by the Grade 9 Concert Band, the Senior Jazz Ensemble, and the Senior Concert Band.

Do I have to attend?

Yes. Our concert is a mandatory part of our program, and the equivalent of a final exam. It is expected that you will not only be in attendance for your portion of the performance, but you will also join the audience for the other groups. Upon the conclusion of the concert,

to help clear the gymnasium of all the equipment and place everything back in its spot in the music room. Many hands make light work, and with everyone helping, this process is quick and tidy.

What are we wearing?

Grade 9 students are asked to track down a clean white shirt (white collared button up preferred), free of logos. Clean black pants, again free of logos (glitter, tears, etc.), with black socks and fully black shoes.

Concert Band students are asked to track down a clean solid white or red collared shirt, free of any logos. Clean black pants, again free of logos (glitter, tears, etc.), with black socks and fully black shoes.

Our concert wear is an important part of our performances. It demonstrates a level of professionalism, and shows the audience we are one. This performance wear is something you will use at least 2 or 3 more times this year - and many more over the course of your time in Band. Please make sure it adheres to the above standards. That said, times are tough and I understand we can't all go out and buy a new outfit for our concert. Often there is an abundance of this type of clothing at the Salvation Army, or other used clothing stores.

Please get in touch with me if you have questions surrounding concert expectations and etiquette:
