Please see below for an update on this week's rehearsal schedules, a CLC Volunteer opportunity, this week's band social, Google Classroom responsibilities, and this year's Band Swag Art winner.
Rehearsal Schedule
Due to the Pro-D day this Friday, there will be no morning band Friday October 24th (Senior Concert Band). As such, we will have full band rehearsal Monday and Wednesday. Please note: any 4 day week where a rehearsal is lost becomes a Full Band week. This helps ensure we keep our curricular time balanced throughout the year.
CLC Volunteer Opportunity
This Wednesday October 22nd will be a double block day. It's currently programmed as a C/D rotation. Any grade 12 students who have CLC during D-block that are willing to help Mr. V distribute instruments to grade 8s, as well as assist with teaching setup, are asked to contact him ASAP. As you know, grade 8s feed our program, and ensuring a smooth startup is critical to inspiring them to join us for future years!
Google Classroom
Many Senior Concert Band students are missing one or more assignments. As communicated in the course outlines, as well as previous updates, late work will not be accepted. It is the students responsibility to keep up to date on their work and communicate any potential delays in submission ahead of the due date.
Band Social
It's here - our first band social of the year! This Thursday October 23rd from 5-8pm students are invited to join their peers in the music room for an evening full of fun! This will be a potluck style event, with a hefty load of chili provided by Mr. V. Please sign up for a shareable by accessing the sign up doc on the respective google classrooms. After we eat our student led Crowe Band Executive will host a Karaoke session, as well as other activities. Please arrange for pickup at 8pm sharp!
Congrats Maddy!
Congratulations to this year's Band Swag Artist: Maddy Murchie! Maddy has come up with a rad design that will be screen printed on the back of our hoodies, and she's cooking something up for the front of them as well!
